Stuffed Manicotti or Shells

Creamy ricotta filling in a baked pasta sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz Manicotti or Shell pasta
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, slices or shredded
Ricotta Filling
  • 2 cups Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Basil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Add lemon juice if desired.

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta to hard al dente. Remove from water.
  2. Mix the remaining ingredients.
  3. Fill pasta with cheese mixture.
  4. Lightly oil the bottom of a casserole dish. Place filled pasta in dish and cover with desired sauce. Top with mozzarella cheese. Cover the dish with a lid or foil.
  5. Bake at 275 for 20 to 30 minutes. Uncover. Turn oven to low broil and cook additional 3 to 5 minutes to brown the cheese, if desired.
