Method
- Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Combine milk and egg. Add to flour all at once. Stir until dough follows mixer around the bowl.
- Knead dough gently for 1 - 2 minutes.
- Roll dough to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut into circles with round cutter dipped in flour. Or cut into squares.
- Bake on ungreased baking sheet. Close together for soft sided biscuits.
- Bake at 450 for 10 to 14 minutes until golden brown.
