Sauerbraten

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Vinegar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Pickling Spice
  • 4 lbs Beef
  • 1 box Gingersnap cookies
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup

Method
 

  1. Combine all sauce ingredients.
  2. Soak meat in sauce 24 hours. Turn only once.
  3. Cook the meat in the sauce in slow cooker for 3 1/2 hours. Or high pressure cooker for 20 minutes, let release naturally.
  4. Melt the gingersnaps in the hot meat sauce.
    Add ketchup. Drain sauce and serve over each portion of meat.
